Former Hog launches NBA All-Star voting campaign

The former Arkansas basketball player and NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks has started his own fan voting campaign to qualify for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.

Little Rock native Ark. is in his sixth season in the NBA and currently plays for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Eastern Conference.

The forward has been a big part of the Bucks’ success this season, serving as a big sidekick to one of the NBA’s top players, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Portis is having a better career season so far. He is averaging 15.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game in 28.2 minutes per game.

Portis recently tweeted a graphic to let fans know he’s striving to be named an all-star this season.

The big guy kisses his Bobby “POTUS” character which he kissed after visiting the White House a few months ago. POTUS, if you didn’t know, stands for President of the United States, which pairs well with his work ethic and passion for the game.

If named to the 2022 All-Star Game, Portis would be the first Razorback since Joe Johnson represented the Brooklyn Nets in the 2014 All-Star Game.

You can vote for five Eastern Conference players and five Western Conference players.

The votes of the stars are weighted. Fans make up 50% of the vote, while NBA coaches and NBA players each make up 25% of the vote.
